Rolling Stones – Undercover 500-Piece Puzzle

Released in November 1983, Undercover was the Rolling Stones' first studio album after Tattoo You. The band brought its rock sound into the early 1980s with tracks including Undercover of the Night, She Was Hot and Too Much Blood.

The cover is instantly recognisable: against a blue background, a nude woman photographed from behind is partially concealed by a series of colourful images and graphic shapes. The Rolling Stones' famous Tongue and Lips logo also appears on one of these elements.

A cover designed to be literally “uncovered”

Art direction was handled by Peter Corriston, who had already been responsible for the Stones' previous three studio album covers, working with photographer Hubert Kretzschmar. Following their work on Some Girls, Emotional Rescue and Tattoo You, the sleeve once again became more than an image: it was something the owner could physically interact with.

Did you know? On the original Undercover vinyl sleeve, some of the elements concealing the model were actual removable stickers. Peeling them away progressively revealed what was hidden underneath — a particularly clever visual game built around the title Undercover. 🕵️

This combination of photography, collage and graphic details is reproduced here as a 500-piece puzzle.
