This puzzle features the artwork from Scream Bloody Gore, Death's debut studio album, released in 1987. A landmark record from the early days of death metal, it features instantly recognisable artwork by Ed Repka.

The scene depicts several corpse-like figures dressed in robes and gathered inside a crypt-like setting. At its centre, a figure sits before a glowing red opening, while Death's red logo and the Scream Bloody Gore title complete the macabre composition. 💀

The early days of Death

Scream Bloody Gore was recorded with a remarkably stripped-down line-up: Chuck Schuldiner performed vocals, guitars and bass, while Chris Reifert played drums. The album includes tracks such as Zombie Ritual, Mutilation, Evil Dead and the title track Scream Bloody Gore.

Artwork by Ed Repka

The album's illustration and design were created by American artist Edward J. “Ed” Repka, who became one of the defining visual artists in metal. He would later work with Death again on the covers of Leprosy and Spiritual Healing.

This classic artwork is reproduced here as a 72-piece round puzzle, measuring 18 cm in diameter when completed.
