Artwork analysis 🔍

The patch faithfully recreates the album's iconic artwork. Against a deep black background, a beam of white light enters a triangular prism before emerging as a rainbow spectrum. This deceptively simple composition has become one of the most instantly recognisable images in the history of rock music.

Unlike the original album sleeve, where the prism appeared more subtle, this embroidered version features a soft luminous outline around the triangle, improving visibility while preserving the spirit of the original 1973 artwork.

💡 Did you know?

The famous cover was created by the design studio Hipgnosis (Storm Thorgerson and Aubrey Powell) using an illustration by graphic designer George Hardie. Looking for a clean, elegant and memorable image, the band chose Hardie's scientific illustration of light passing through a prism. The concept was immediately approved and became one of the most celebrated album covers ever created.
