This Led Zeppelin sticker features one of the most famous symbols associated with the band: the winged Swan Song figure, paired here with red Led Zeppelin lettering on a black background. Fans commonly know the symbol as “Icarus” – although its actual origin tells a slightly different story.

“Icarus”? Not quite...

The Swan Song figure was inspired by Evening: Fall of Day, a 19th-century work by American artist William Rimmer. The winged figure is generally identified as Apollo, rather than Icarus. Nevertheless, the “Icarus” nickname became widely used among Led Zeppelin fans over the years.

The Swan Song symbol

Led Zeppelin founded Swan Song Records in 1974. The winged figure became the label's emblem and was subsequently closely associated with the band's visual identity, appearing on records released through Swan Song and becoming one of the most recognisable images connected with Led Zeppelin.
