Motörhead Flag – England Snaggletooth

This Motörhead – England flag features Snaggletooth, the band's historic emblem, in a striking black-and-white design.

At the centre is the unmistakable fanged head surrounded by horns, spikes and chains, with a small skull hanging from one of them. The Motörhead name dominates the top of the design, while England appears below in large Gothic lettering.

Snaggletooth, the Motörhead emblem

The creature was created in 1977 by American artist Joe Petagno for the cover of Motörhead's debut album. It is also known as the War-Pig and Snaggletooth.

Petagno designed the menacing hybrid face using elements including a skull, gorilla and wild boar, adding the huge tusks, helmet, chains and spikes that define the character.

Snaggletooth subsequently became a recurring part of Motörhead's visual identity, appearing in different forms throughout the band's career. 🤘

Founded by Lemmy Kilmister in 1975, Motörhead developed an exceptionally fast and powerful form of rock'n'roll, combining hard rock and heavy metal with the energy of punk.

By the late 1970s and early 1980s, albums including Overkill, Bomber and Ace of Spades had firmly established both the band and its emblem in British rock history.
