Battle imagery made for Amon Amarth

Formed in Sweden in 1992, Amon Amarth developed a distinctive melodic death metal sound with lyrics drawing heavily on Viking tales, Norse mythology and battle. The band released its debut album, Once Sent from the Golden Hall, in 1998.

The Battlefield artwork brings that imagery together in one dramatic scene: a massed army locked in brutal combat, dominated by a mounted warrior. Cold colours, weapons and the heavy sky give the artwork the atmosphere of an epic medieval battle.
