Metallica – 72 Seasons on your turntable

Released in 2023, 72 Seasons takes its title from the 72 seasons that make up the first 18 years of a person's life. James Hetfield described the concept in terms of how these formative years shape who we become.

This concept was accompanied by a distinctive yellow-and-black visual identity, reproduced here across two turntable slipmats.

Two complementary Metallica designs

The first slipmat features the yellow M72 monogram against a completely black background. The “M” incorporates the distinctive lines of the Metallica logo while 72 directly references the album title.

The second takes a much darker approach, with a large tonal “72” motif emerging from a textured black background and the Metallica Seventy-Two lettering appearing in yellow below.
