Ramones – It's Alive 500-Piece Puzzle

Recorded on 31 December 1977 at London's Rainbow Theatre, It's Alive captures the Ramones with their classic early line-up: Joey Ramone on vocals, Johnny Ramone on guitar, Dee Dee Ramone on bass and Tommy Ramone on drums.

Released in 1979, the Ramones' first live album packs 28 songs into less than an hour, drawn from their first three studio albums: Ramones, Leave Home and Rocket to Russia. The set includes Rockaway Beach, Blitzkrieg Bop, Sheena Is a Punk Rocker, Pinhead and We're a Happy Family.

New Year's Eve at the Rainbow Theatre

The concert took place on New Year's Eve 1977. Fans were given “Gabba Gabba Hey” signs and balloons were released into the venue. The audience also included some remarkable guests: Johnny Thunders, Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen, as well as Elton John.

The Ramones recorded four concerts during their December 1977 UK tour, but the Rainbow performance was ultimately selected for It's Alive. Its reputation was well earned: after the show, ten rows of seats were torn out and thrown towards the stage. 🔥

Did you know? The title It's Alive is a reference to the 1974 American horror film of the same name – a suitably Ramones title for a record captured in front of such a wild audience.
