CBGB Wallet – White Logo
This CBGB wallet features the legendary New York club's logo in white against a black background, complete with its deliberately distressed lettering and the “CBGB & OMFUG” inscription. A design directly associated with one of the most important venues in punk rock history.
CBGB & OMFUG: at the roots of New York punk
Opened in 1973 by Hilly Kristal at 315 Bowery in Manhattan, CBGB became a focal point for a new generation of New York rock bands during the mid-1970s. Ramones, Television, Patti Smith Group, Talking Heads and Blondie all played there during their formative years, helping establish the club as a landmark in punk history.
Did you know? CBGB originally stood for Country, BlueGrass and Blues, the music Hilly Kristal initially intended to showcase at the venue. OMFUG stood for Other Music For Uplifting Gormandizers. History had other plans: CBGB would become known around the world for punk and New York's underground music scene. 🤘
