By 1991, Elaine Paige was firmly established as one of Britain's leading musical theatre performers. Her career had included creating the role of Eva Perón in the London production of Evita, playing Grizabella in Cats and appearing in Chess, which produced her hugely successful duet with Barbara Dickson, I Know Him So Well.

The 1991 tour accompanied the release of Love Can Do That. Her concert repertoire combined material from the album with celebrated songs from her musical theatre career, including Don't Cry for Me Argentina, I Know Him So Well and Memory.
