The Slipknot logo was created by Joey Jordison, the band's original drummer and a founding member. He drew an early version before Slipknot were signed, during the same period in which he created the famous Tribal S.

💡 Did you know?

Joey Jordison recalled drawing the Tribal S in ink on a small piece of paper placed on his father's old desk. The ink soaked through the paper and left the design permanently marked into the wood. Several Slipknot members would later have the symbol tattooed before the band were even signed.
