2Pac – Smoke Flag: Tupac Shakur in Black and White
Tupac Shakur, also known as 2Pac, was one of the major figures in 1990s American hip-hop. Born Tupac Amaru Shakur in New York in 1971, his discography includes landmark albums such as 2Pacalypse Now (1991), Me Against the World (1995) and All Eyez on Me (1996).
On September 7, 1996, Tupac was shot in Las Vegas. He died six days later, on September 13, aged just 25. Several posthumous albums would subsequently add to a catalogue that became an important part of hip-hop history.
The Tupac Smoke Portrait
This 2Pac – Smoke flag features a black-and-white portrait of Tupac Shakur. The rapper is shown in profile, shirtless, wearing his distinctive tied bandana, holding a cigarette and wearing a cross pendant.
Several of his tattoos are also visible, while the Gothic-style inscription “Tupac 1971–1996” appears in the lower left corner. The entirely black-and-white treatment keeps the focus firmly on Tupac's portrait.
A large-format wall flag dedicated to 2Pac and one of the images associated with the rapper's visual legacy. 🎤
