Released in May 1974, Quo is Status Quo's seventh studio album. It comes from the period when the British band had fully established its powerful, direct rock sound, driven by the guitars of Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt.

The album includes Backwater, Just Take Me and Break the Rules, the latter also released as a single in 1974.

The Quo album cover was created by British artist Dave Field. His illustration places the faces of the four Status Quo members in the crown of a tree, while its roots descend towards three circular shapes containing the letters Q, U and O.

With its highly detailed illustration and distinctive 1970s aesthetic, the artwork makes a particularly interesting image to reconstruct as a 500-piece puzzle.
