You can’t talk about South Park without mentioning Chef, the school cook known for his deep voice and unforgettable soul songs. In the original version, the character was voiced by American soul legend Isaac Hayes, Academy Award winner for the theme song of Shaft (1971). His distinctive voice played a major role in making Chef one of the most memorable characters from the early seasons.

Created in 1997 by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, South Park became a worldwide reference in animated satire. Chef perfectly embodied the provocative humor and freedom of tone that defined the show’s late-90s golden era.
