Dr. Feelgood, the album that took Mötley Crüe to the top
Official Mötley Crüe Dr. Feelgood sew-on patch – 10 × 9 cm
💉 This official Mötley Crüe patch features the iconic Dr. Feelgood emblem from the band's fifth studio album, released in 1989. Built around a striking reimagined caduceus, the artwork has become one of the most recognisable symbols in American hard rock.
The band's biggest commercial success ⚡
Released in 1989, Dr. Feelgood became Mötley Crüe's most successful album. Produced by Bob Rock, it reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and includes classics such as Dr. Feelgood, Kickstart My Heart, Without You and Same Ol' Situation (S.O.S.).
It was also the last studio album recorded by the original line-up before Vince Neil's temporary departure in 1992.
A reimagined caduceus that became iconic 🔍
The artwork features a redesigned caduceus, with a green snake coiled around a vertical dagger topped by a skull, while dark wings extend from each side of the hilt. Above it sits the classic red Mötley Crüe logo flanked by two stylised skulls.
Inspired by a symbol traditionally associated with medicine, the caduceus is transformed into a darker rock-inspired emblem that perfectly matches the title Dr. Feelgood and the album's visual identity.
💡 Did you know?
The title Dr. Feelgood references the famous nickname of Dr. Max Jacobson, who became known for administering stimulant injections to numerous American celebrities during the 1950s and 1960s. The band drew inspiration from this expression when developing the album's identity.
