Los Angeles, where Guns N' Roses began

Formed in Los Angeles in 1985, Guns N' Roses emerged from the city's thriving rock scene around the Sunset Strip. The band came together around Axl Rose, Slash, Duff McKagan, Izzy Stradlin and Steven Adler, the line-up that would record Appetite for Destruction.

Released in 1987, their debut album propelled Guns N' Roses onto the international stage with songs including Welcome to the Jungle, Paradise City and Sweet Child o' Mine. The “Los F'N Angeles” inscription therefore points directly back to the city where the band's story began.

Guns and roses: both sides of the name in one design

The artwork plays directly on the Guns N' Roses name by combining revolvers with red roses. Barbed wire surrounding the guns completes the circular composition, while touches of yellow, red and green stand out against the black background.

The band's name itself came from two groups active on the Los Angeles scene: Hollywood Rose, which included Axl Rose and Izzy Stradlin, and L.A. Guns, featuring Tracii Guns. The combination of the two names gave rise to Guns N' Roses in 1985.
