The 1978 World Tour, Black Sabbath's final world tour with Ozzy Osbourne

Official Black Sabbath sew-on patch – 9.5 cm diameter

🤘 This official Black Sabbath sew-on patch celebrates the band's World Tour 1978, launched in support of Never Say Die!. Its colourful circular artwork perfectly captures the fantasy-inspired imagery that had become an essential part of Black Sabbath's visual identity.

At the centre of the design stands a winged demonic creature with horns, a tail and large red wings. Bright beams of light burst from its eyes while a mountainous landscape fills the background. The entire composition is framed by elegant lettering reading Black Sabbath World Tour 1978.

A pivotal tour in the band's history 🎸

The World Tour 1978 promoted Never Say Die!, the last studio album recorded with Ozzy Osbourne before his departure from the band the following year. As such, the tour marked the end of one of the most influential chapters in Black Sabbath's career.

A fantasy-inspired illustration 🔍

Unlike many of the band's darker album covers, this artwork features vibrant shades of green, red, purple and blue. Its fantasy aesthetic recalls the concert posters and psychedelic artwork of the late 1970s while remaining unmistakably Black Sabbath.

💡 Did you know?

Only a few months after this tour, Ozzy Osbourne left Black Sabbath. He was replaced in 1979 by Ronnie James Dio, whose arrival ushered in a new era for the band with the landmark album Heaven and Hell.
