AC/DC Flag – Highway to Hell Australian Cover

This AC/DC flag features the striking Australian cover of Highway to Hell, released in 1979. Unlike the much more familiar international artwork, the Australian version adds flames and a long bass guitar neck stretching down towards the album title. 🔥

The Australian Highway to Hell cover

The artwork uses the same photograph of the band seen on the international cover, featuring Bon Scott, Angus Young, Malcolm Young, Cliff Williams and Phil Rudd. For the Australian release, however, the image was heavily reworked with flames across the lower section and a bass neck running through the centre of the composition.

The large red AC/DC logo dominates the top of the design, while Angus Young appears wearing his famous devil horns. The Highway to Hell title sits at the very bottom, at the end of the instrument neck.

The final album with Bon Scott

Highway to Hell was the sixth AC/DC studio album in the Australian discography. Released in 1979, it includes tracks such as Highway to Hell, Touch Too Much, Shot Down in Flames and If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It).

Most importantly, it was the final AC/DC studio album recorded with Bon Scott. The singer played his final concert with the band in January 1980, only weeks before his death. ⚡
