AC/DC – For Those About to Rock Flag

This AC/DC flag features the artwork from For Those About to Rock (We Salute You), released in 1981. An instantly recognisable design, with the AC/DC logo and famous black cannon standing out against the album's brown-gold background.

For Those About to Rock followed the hugely successful Back in Black and became the first AC/DC album to reach No. 1 in the United States. Its title track also gave rise to one of the band's most spectacular live traditions: the cannon blasts that accompany the end of the song. ⚡

The cannons inspired by Charles and Diana's wedding

The story behind those cannons is an unusual one. In 1981, while AC/DC were working on the album in Paris, the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana was being broadcast on television. Angus Young heard the ceremonial cannon fire from a nearby room and thought the sound worked perfectly with For Those About to Rock (We Salute You).

The idea stuck: cannon blasts were added to the track, a cannon appeared on the album cover, and real cannons subsequently became an essential part of the song's live performance. 💥
