Everything about Motörhead: biography, style & influences

Motörhead, founded in 1975 by the relentless Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister, became a true legend of heavy metal, blending elements of punk and raw rock’n’roll. At the height of the British hard rock explosion, Lemmy created a unique sound: fast, heavy and uncompromising, first captured on their self-titled debut album in 1977.
Albums such as Overkill, Ace of Spades and Iron Fist quickly became classics, as did their iconic Snaggletooth logo, now a symbol recognized by generations of fans. On stage, Lemmy, Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor and "Fast" Eddie Clarke delivered a fierce, no-frills performance style.
Despite numerous lineup changes, Motörhead never slowed down, releasing albums up to Bad Magic in 2015. Lemmy’s passing in December 2015 marked the end of the band, but their legacy remains powerful, celebrated worldwide by fans and musicians alike.
