Everything about Mötley Crüe: biography, style & influences

Mötley Crüe, an iconic band of the Californian glam metal scene, was formed in Los Angeles in 1981 by Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee, Vince Neil and Mick Mars. From the start, the band delivered a powerful mix of catchy riffs, provocative stage presence and outrageous visuals, firmly rooted in hard rock.
Their debut album Too Fast for Love marked the beginning of a rapid rise, followed by major releases such as Shout at the Devil (1983), Theatre of Pain (1985) and Dr. Feelgood (1989), their biggest commercial success.
Symbols of 1980s excess, Mötley Crüe became known for explosive live shows and a no-compromise rock attitude. Despite internal tensions, the band has remained relevant, returning to the spotlight with tours such as “The Stadium Tour” in 2022.
