Everything about Def Leppard: biography, style & influences

Def Leppard, formed in Sheffield in 1977, is one of the leading bands in hard rock. The group achieved global success with catchy melodies, polished guitar work and stadium-ready anthems.
After promising early releases like On Through the Night (1980) and High ’n’ Dry (1981), Def Leppard reached new heights with Pyromania (1983), featuring “Photograph” and “Rock of Ages”. Their biggest breakthrough came with Hysteria (1987), which sold over 25 million copies worldwide and included hits like “Pour Some Sugar on Me” and “Animal”.
The band also became a symbol of resilience, especially after drummer Rick Allen lost his arm in an accident but continued performing with a customized drum kit.
