Everything about Death: biography, style & influences

Death, founded in 1983 by Chuck Schuldiner in Florida, is widely regarded as the band that defined death metal. Their music combines brutality, technical skill and existential depth, moving beyond the early gore-driven clichés of the genre.
The debut album Scream Bloody Gore (1987) laid the foundations of a radical sound, but it was with Leprosy (1988), Spiritual Healing (1990) and especially Human (1991) that the band expanded its musical complexity, incorporating progressive elements and philosophical themes.
Chuck Schuldiner, who passed away in 2001, remains a legendary figure in extreme metal. A virtuoso guitarist and visionary composer, he pushed the boundaries of the genre, bringing a rare depth and almost spiritual dimension to his work.
