The grey symbol fills the height of the black background, with \u003cstrong\u003eSEPULTURA\u003c\/strong\u003e running horizontally across its centre.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eA symbol created for Sepultura in the early 1990s\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eShortly before the release of \u003cem\u003eArise\u003c\/em\u003e in 1991, Sepultura approached \u003cstrong\u003eBozó\u003c\/strong\u003e, a tattoo artist from Belo Horizonte, to create a tribal symbol for the band. Working from the initial \u003cstrong\u003eS\u003c\/strong\u003e, he developed it into a twisting construction of shapes resembling vertebrae and thorns.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe Tribal S went on to represent Sepultura independently of the band's name and became one of their most recognisable graphic marks.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eFrom Arise to Roots\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe symbol remained part of Sepultura's imagery through several major periods of their career.
